1. Can you tell me. . . ?
(ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಬಹುದೇ. . . ?)
E. g. Can you tell me where the bus stand is? (ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಬಹುದೇ?)
2. Could you tell me. . . ?
(ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯೇ. . . ?)
E. g. Could you tell me where you bought these shoes from? (ಈ ಶೊಸ್ ಅನ್ನು ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಖರೀದಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯೇ?)
3. I'd like to know. . .
(ನಾನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. . . )
E. g. I'd like to know if there is any music concert happening tonight. (ಈ ದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವಿದೆಯೆ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ)
4. D'you know. . .
(D'you means 'Do you')
(ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆಯಾ. . . )
E. g. D'you know where I can find a beer shop here? (ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀರ್ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆಯಾ?)
5. (Got / Have you) any idea. . . ?
(ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆಯೇ. . . ?)
E. g. Have you any idea about the new lounge that has opened? (ಹೊಸ ಕೋಣೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಉದ್ಗಾಟನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆಯೇ?)
6. Could anyone tell me. . . ?
(ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಬಹುದೇ. . . ?)
E. g. Could anyone tell me the name of that website that Mr. Jack mentioned yesterday? (ನೆನ್ನೆ ಜಾಕ್ ರವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಆ ಜಾಲತಾಣದ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಬಹುದೇ?)
7. (Do / Would) you happen to know. . . ?
(ನಿನಗೆ ಇದರ ಅರಿವಿದೆಯಾ. . . ?)
E. g. Do you happen to know where my bag is? It was right here a few minutes ago! (ನನ್ನ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಅರಿವಿದೆಯಾ? ಕೆಲ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳ ಮುನ್ನ ಅದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇತ್ತು!)
8. I don't suppose you (would) know. . .
(ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. . . )
E. g. I don't suppose you would know that Mark is unwell. (ಮಾರ್ಕ್ ನ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯದ ಕುರಿತು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ)
9. I wonder if you could tell me. . .
(ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಎಂಬುದೆನ್ನ ಕೌತುಕ. . . )
E. g. I wonder if you could tell me where the science department is. (ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಎಂಬ ಕೌತುಕ)
10. I wonder if someone could tell me. . .
