1. Very vs. Too
Very - Used to add emphasis (to an adjective or adverb) to a great degree. (Very - biasa untuk menambah penekanan pada adjective atau adverb ke darjah yang lebih tinggi. )
E. g. The mango is very sweet. (Mangga sangat manis. )
Too - To a higher degree than is desirable, permissible, or possible; excessively.
Usually it has a negative meaning. (Untuk darjah yang lebih tinggi daripada perkara yang elok, dibenarkan, atau mungkin; secara berlebihan. Biasanya mempunyai maksud yang negatif. )
E. g. There is too much sugar in this tea! I cannot have it.
2. Few vs. A few
Few means "virtually none" or "almost zero". (Few ertinya "hampir - hampir tiada" atau "hampir - hampir nol". )
E. g. Few students could clear the test. (Not enough students passed)
A few implies a small number of something (just enough). ('A few' menandakan jumlah sesuatu yang sedikit (mencukupi). )
A few means "some" or "a handful". (A few bermaksud "beberapa" atau "bilangan yang kecil". )
E. g. I have a few pens with me.
3. Little vs. a little
Little - It also means a small amount, but the amount is almost nothing. (Little - bermaksud jumlah yang sedikit, akan tetapi jumlahnya hampir - hampir tiada. )
E. g. - Sorry, I have little money. I really can't afford to go out.
When we say 'a little' we mean a small amount, but it's enough (Semasa kita mengatakan 'a little', kita memaksudkan jumlah yag sedikit, namun mencukupi. )
E. g. - I have a little money, enough for the cinema at least.
