3 English Grammar concepts:
1. Very vs. Too
Very - Used to add emphasis (to an adjective or adverb) to a great degree. यह विशेषण अथवा क्रिया - विशेषण का महत्व बताने के लिए प्रयोग में लिया जाता है. इसका अर्थ होता है बहुत. )
E. g. The mango is very sweet. (यहाँ हम आम की विशेषता बता रहे हैं इसलिए इस शब्द का प्रयोग सकारात्मक रूप में किया जाता है. )
Too - To a higher degree than is desirable, permissible, or possible; excessively.
Usually it has a negative meaning. (इस शब्द का प्रयोग नकारात्मक रूप में किया जाता है, इसका अर्थ होता है जरुरत से अधिक. )
E. g. There is too much sugar in this tea! I cannot have it.
2. Few vs. A few
Few means "virtually none" or "almost zero". (Few का अर्थ होता है जो अल्प हो या बहुत ना हो. ) This is a negative term.
E. g. Few students could clear the test. (Not enough students passed)
A few implies a small number of something (just enough). ('A few' का इस्तेमाल हम छोटी संख्या दर्शाने के लिए करते हैं. )
A few means "some" or "a handful". (A few का अर्थ होता है मुट्ठी भर या थोडा सा. )
E. g. I have a few pens with me.
3. Little vs. a little
Little - It also means a small amount, but the amount is almost nothing. यह एक छोटी राशि दर्शाता है, लेकिन लगभग कुछ भी नहीं के बराबर है।
E. g. - Sorry, I have little money. I really can't afford to go out.
When we say 'a little' we mean a small amount, but it's enough: (जब हम कहते हैं 'a little', इसका अर्थ हुआ की हम एक हम एक छोटी राशि की बात कर रहे हैं, लेकिन जो पर्याप्त हो. )
E. g. - I have a little money, enough for the cinema at least.
