Punctuation Rules:
1. Every sentence must end with a full stop.
(प्रत्येक वाक्याच्या शेवटी पूर्णविराम असणे गरजेचे आहे)
2. Proper nouns (names of people, places, brands, etc, i. e. unique instances of a class) must always be capitalised.
(वाक्यात नामाची (व्यक्ती, जागा इ. जे इतरांपेक्षा वेगळे आहेत) सुरवात कॅपिटल अक्षराने करणे गरजेचे आहे)
3. When you use opening quotation marks, do not forget to use closing quotation marks at the end of the quoted word or phrase.
(वाक्यात अवतरण चिन्हे वापरताना वाक्याच्या शेवटी दुसरे अवतरण चिन्हं देऊन वाक्य संपवणे विसरू नये)
4. Quotation marks are when quoting or sometimes to convey irony, not for emphasis; emphasis is conveyed by emboldening or italicisation, followed by an exclamation mark.
(अवतरण चिन्हे हि एखाद्याचे बोलणे अथवा उपरोध दर्शविण्यासाठी वापरतात, भर देऊन बोलण्यासाठी नाही; भर देऊन बोलण्यासाठी उद्गारवाचक चिन्हा सोबत बोल्ड अथवा इटालिक वापरतात)
5. Do not use an apostrophe when you are pluralising a word. The plural of toy is toys, not toy's. Apostrophes are used to form contractions (it is = it’s) and indicate possession.
(वाक्याचे अनेकवचन करताना ' चा वापर करू नये. toy चे अनेकवचन toys होते toy's नाही. ' चा वापर शब्द लहान करण्यासाठी (it is = it's) आणि ताबा दर्शविण्यासाठी होतो. )
6. As per the rules of British English, any punctuation mark that is not part of a quoted section of text must be placed outside the quotation marks. However, in the case of direct speech, punctuation marks must be enclosed within the quotation marks.
(ब्रिटिश इंग्रजी नियमांनुसार अवतरण चिन्हांकीत वाक्याचा भाग नसलेले विरामचिन्हे हि अवतरण चिन्हांच्या बाहेर लिहितात. व्यक्तीचे बोलणे दर्शविणाऱ्या वाक्यात विरामचिन्हे हि दोन अवतरण चिन्हाच्या आत लिहितात)
