Types of parties:
1. Housewarming
- A party that you give in a house that you have just moved into (jamuan masuk rumah baru)
2. Dinner Party
- A special meal that you have to celebrate a particular occasion (Majlis makan malam)
3. Cocktail party
- A formal party in the early evening at which alcoholic drinks and small things to eat are served. (Majlis koktel; Majlis atau perhimpunan tak formal atau separuh formal biasanya untuk perbincangan dan semasa majlis, minuman terutamanya beralkohol disajikan. )
4. Hen night
- A celebration for a woman who is about to get married, in which only her women friends take part. (Parti untuk meraikan wanita yang hendak berkahwin, yang boleh hadir hanya wanita sahaja. )
5. Masquerade
- A party where people dress as different characters. (Parti dengan baju penyamar)
6. Slumber party
An occasion when a group of children all sleep at the house of one child. (Sekumpulan kanak - kanak yang tidur di salah satu rumah kawannya. )
7. Stag night
An occasion when a group of men celebrate together because one of them is soon to be married. (Majlis untuk meraikan teman lelaki yang hendak berkahwin, hanya boleh dihadiri lelaki sahaja. )
8. BYOB (Bring your own booze)
- It is often placed on an invitation to indicate that the host will not be providing alcohol and that guests are welcome to bring their own. (Keterangan pada undangan parti bahawa tuan rumah tak menyediakan alkohol, dan peserta boleh membawa sendiri. )
