Dental vocabulary words:
1. Cavity (çukur): missing tooth structure. A cavity may be due to decay, erosion or abrasion. If caused by caries; also referred to as carious lesion.
2. Abscess (apse): acute or chronic localized inflammation, probably with a collection of pus, associated with tissue destruction and, frequently, swelling; usually secondary to infection.
3. Decay (çürük): decomposition of tooth structure.
4. Enamel (diş minesi): hard calcified tissue covering dentin of the crown of tooth.
5. Incisor (ön diş): a tooth for cutting or gnawing; located in the front of the mouth in both jaws.
6. Molar (azı dişi): teeth posterior to the premolars (bicuspids) on either side of the jaw; grinding teeth, having large crowns and broad chewing surfaces.
7. Scurvy (skorbüt): a disease caused by a deficiency of vitamin C, characterized by swollen bleeding gums and the opening of previously healed wounds
8. Plaque (bakteriyel tabaka): a soft sticky substance that accumulates on teeth composed largely of bacteria and bacterial derivatives.
