Ram Nath Kovind is an Indian politician and the NDA candidate for President of India.
On 8 August 2015, the President of India appointed him as Governor of Bihar.
In Bihar, he was widely acclaimed for constituting a judicial commission to check irregularities in promotion of undeserving teachers, bungling of funds and appointment of undeserving candidates in universities.
On 19 June 2017, BJP party president Amit Shah declared Kovind the NDA candidate for the post of President of India.
