E - mail Vocabulary Words
1. Spam: irrelevant or unsolicited messages sent over the Internet, typically to a large number of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreading malware, etc.
2. Forward: send (an email) on to a further destination.
3. CC (Carbon Copy): Anyone you add to the cc: field of a message receives a copy of that message when you send it. All other recipients of that message can see that person you designated as a cc: recipient
4. BCC (Blind Carbon Copy): Bcc: stands for "blind carbon copy. " Anyone you add to the bcc: field of a message receives a copy of that message when you send it. But, bcc: recipients are invisible to all the other recipients of the message including other bcc: recipients.
5. Subject: the "subject" area of an email is a short description of the message.
6. Signature: a person's name written in a distinctive way as a form of identification in concluding a letter.
7. Sign off: conclude a letter, broadcast, or other message.
8. Salutation: a greeting in words or actions, or the words used at the beginning of a letter.
