The Indonesian dish of ikan dabu dabu (fish with tomatoes, chili, shallots, lime juice and coconut oil) was promoted at the Taste of Amsterdam festival in Den Haag, the Netherlands, from June to 4.

At the Indonesian booth, which was set up by the Indonesian Embassy in Den Haag and Amsterdam's Ron Gastrobar Indonesia restaurant, with support from the Tourism Ministry, the country also presented salad dish from Jakarta and sate kambing (mutton satay). The chef who made the dishes, Agus Hermawan from Ron Gastrobar Indonesia, used fresh Indonesian spices and succeeded in getting thousands of visitors to try his culinary creations, Antara reported.

Launched in 2008, Taste of Amsterdam is one of the Netherlands' biggest culinary festivals. It is run by Taste Festivals, which started in London 14 years ago. Festivals under the brand have been held across 19 big cities around the globe, including Amsterdam. They feature prominent chefs and restaurants.

Themed "Exotic Taste of Indonesia", the Indonesian booth presented general knowledge quiz on Indonesia and awarded souvenirs. It also displayed postcards of Indonesian dishes, complete with recipes and tourist information on the archipelago.
