Nepal celebrates its Constitution Day which is also known as the National Day.
The new constitution of Nepal was promulgated on this day in 2015. A number of programmes are being organised to mark the occasion.
The main function was held at Nepal Army Pavilion in Kathmandu, which was attended by the President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the National Assembly, ministers, government officials, security chiefs and heads of diplomatic missions.
Addressing the people on this occasion Prime Minister Oli expressed hope that constitution will strengthen Nepal and transform it into a prosperous nation.
He also said constitution imbibes present and future aims and aspirations of the people and it will help in fulfilling the goal of Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.
A march - past by Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Scout and students and cultural programmes by locals also featured to mark the occasion.
