Playground Vocabulary Words:
1. Slide: a structure with a smooth sloping surface for children to slide down
2. Monkey bars: a piece of playground equipment consisting of a horizontally mounted overhead ladder, from which children may swing.
3. Jungle gym: a climbing frame for children
4. Swing: a seat suspended by ropes or chains, on which someone may sit and swing back and forth
5. Spring rider: a children's playground item consisting of a large spring beneath a central beam or flange on which the rider sits.
6. Hopscotch: a children's game in which each child by turn hops into and over squares marked on the ground to retrieve a marker thrown into one of these squares.
7. Seesaw: a long plank balanced in the middle on a fixed support, on each end of which children sit and swing up and down by pushing the ground alternately with their feet.
8. Merry - go - round: a revolving machine with model horses or cars on which people ride for amusement
