1. Advise, Advice
Advise (ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡುವುದು) - Offer suggestions about the best course of action to someone.
Advice (ಉಪದೇಶ) - an opinion or recommendation offered as a guide to action, conduct, etc.
Example: Neha advised me to give Pooja an advice on what to wear for the party.
(ನೇಹಾ ನನಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶ ನೀಡಿದಳು ನಾನು ಪೂಜಾಗೆ ಪಾರ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದಬೇಕು ಎಂದು. )
2. Weather, Whether
Weather (ಹವಾಮಾನ) - the state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc.
Whether (ಅಥವಾ) - expressing a doubt or choice between alternatives.
Example: Whether you agree to it or not, the weather has become cold.

3. Alter, Altar
Alter (ಬದಲಿಸುವುದು) - change in character or composition, typically in a comparatively small but significant way.
Altar (ಬಲಿಪೀಠ) - An elevated place or structure before which religious ceremonies may be enacted or upon which sacrifices may be offered.
Example: We need to alter the altar. It is very old now.
(ನಾವು ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅದು ಬಹಳ ಹಳೆಯದಾಗಿದೆ. )
4. Principal, Principle
Principal (ಪ್ರಧಾನ) - first in order of importance; main.
Principle (ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತ) - morally correct behaviour and attitudes.
Example: The principal of that school is a man of principles.

5. Bare, Bear
Bare (ನಗ್ನ) - (of a person or part of the body) not clothed or covered.
Bear (ಕರಡಿ) - a large, heavy mammal which walks on the soles of its feet, having thick fur and a very short tail
Bear (ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು) - support; carry the weight of.
Example: The bear was bare. He was bearing the weight of the tree.
(ಕರಡಿಯು ನಗ್ನವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಮರದ ಭಾರವನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. )
6. Whole, Hole
Whole (ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ, ಪೂರ್ತಿ) - all of; entire.
Hole (ರಂಧ್ರ) - a hollow place in a solid body or surface.
There were holes in the whole cake.

7. Prey, Pray
Prey (ಬೇಟೆ) - an animal that is hunted and killed by another for food.
Pray (ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು) - address a prayer to God or another deity.
The elephant fell prey to the tiger and got hurt. Everybody was praying for the elephant to get well soon.
