There are two common ways of telling the time. (நேரம் சொல்ல இரண்டு பொதுவான வழிகள் உள்ளன. )
1) Say the hour first and then the minutes. (Hour + Minutes) (பின்னர் முதலில் மணி பிறகு நிமிடங்கள் சொல்லவும்.
6:25 - It's six twenty - five (ஆறு இருபத்தைந்து ஆகிறது)
8:05 - It's eight O - five (எட்டு ஐந்து ஆகிறது) (the O is said like the letter O / 'O' ஆங்கில எழுத்து)
9:11 - It's nine eleven (ஒன்பது பதினொன்று ஆகிறது)
2:34 - It's two thirty - four (இரண்டு முப்பத்தி நான்கு ஆகிறது)
2) Say the minutes first and then the hour. (முதல் நிமிடங்கள் பின்னர் மணி சொலுதல்) (Minutes + PAST/TO + Hour)
For minutes 1 - 30 we use PAST after the minutes. (நாம் நிமிடங்களுக்கு 1 - 30 பிறகு/கடந்த நிமிடங்கள் என்று பயன்படுத்துவோம். )
For minutes 31 - 59 we use TO after the minutes. (நாம் நிமிடங்களுக்கு 1 - 30 க்கு நிமிடங்கள் என்று பயன்படுத்துவோம். )
2:35 - It's twenty - five to three (மூன்று மணிக்கு இன்னும் இருபத்தைந்து நிமிடங்கள் உள்ளது )
11:20 - It's twenty past eleven (பதினொரு மணி இருபது ஆகிறது )
4:18 - It's eighteen past four (நான்கு மணி ஆயி பதினெட்டு நிமிடங்கள் கந்துவிட்டது )
8:51 - It's nine to nine (ஒன்பது ஆகா இன்னும் ஒன்பது நிமிடங்கள் உள்ளது)
2:59 - It's one to three (மூன்று மணி ஆக இன்னும் ஒரு நிமிடம் உள்ளது. )
When it is 15 minutes past the hour we normally say: (a) quarter past (அதை 15 நிமிடங்கள் கடந்த பிறகு நாம் பொதுவாக சொல்லுவது: கால் மணி நேரம் கடந்துவிட்டது)
7:15 - It's quarter past seven (ஏழு மணிக்கு பிறகு கால் மணி நேரம் ஆகிவிட்டது. (ஏழே கால்))
When it is 15 minutes before the hour we normally say: a quarter to (அதை 15 நிமிடங்கள் வரவிருக்கு போது நாம் பொதுவாக சொல்லுவது: கால் மணி நேரம் உள்ளது)
12:45 - It's quarter to one (ஒரு மணி ஆக இன்னும் கால் மணி நேரம் உள்ளது)
When it is 30 minutes past the hour we normally say: half past (அதை 30 நிமிடங்கள் கடந்த பிறகு நாம் பொதுவாக சொல்லுவது: அரை மணி நேரம் கடந்துவிட்டது)
3:30 - It's half past three (but we can also say three - thirty) (மூன்று மணிக்கு பிறகு அரை மணி நேரமாகிவிட்டது. ( மூன்றை ))
Note:
1. O'clock
We use o'clock when there are NO minutes. (o'clock நாம் நிமிடங்கள் பூஜியத்தில் இருக்கும் போது பயன்படுத்தபடும். )
10:00 - It's ten o'clock (பத்து மணி ஆகிறது)
5:00 - It's five o'clock (ஐந்து மணி ஆகிறது)
1:00 - It's one o'clock (ஒரு மணி ஆகிறது)
Sometimes it is written as 9 o'clock (the number + o'clock) (சில நேரங்களில் 9 o'clock என்று குறிப்பிடப்படும் (மணி + o'clock))
2. For 12:00 there are four expressions in English. (12:00மணிக்கு ஆங்கிலத்தில் நான்கு வகை வெளிப்பாடுகள் உள்ளன. )
Twelve o'clock (மணி பன்னிரண்டு)
Midday = noon (நண்பகல்)
Midnight (நள்ளிரவு)
