Smart -> Smartest. చాలా చిన్న పదాల superlative ఫార్మ్ 'the + adjective + est' రూపం లోనే ఉంటుంది.

ఆమె మా క్లాసులో అత్యంత తెలివైన అమ్మాయి.
Intelligent -> Most intelligent. చాల పెద్ద పదాల superlative ఫార్మ్ 'the most + adjective' రూపం లోనే ఉంటుంది.

ఆఖరి రెండు అక్షరాలలో ఒక అచ్చు(o) దాని తర్వాత హల్లు(t) ఉన్న విశేషణాలకు, superlative ఫార్మ్ లో, ఆఖరి హల్లు రెండు సార్లు వస్తుంది: hottest. అదే ఆఖరి హల్లు ముందు రెండు అచ్చులు ఉంటే(steep), అప్పుడు హల్లు రెండు సార్లు రాదు(steepest).
