'Tons of' digunakan untuk menggantikan 'a lot of/lots of', tetapi berbanding dengan 'lot/lots' , penggunaan 'tons of' adalah lebih tidak rasmi.

Half (of) my friends are bachelors = Lebih separuh daripada kawan - kawan saya adalah bujang.
Selepas 'half' (separuh)/'half of', 'determiner' biasanya akan digunakan.
'Half my friends' (separuh daripada kawan saya)/'Half of my friends' (separuh daripada kawan saya)
Half of them were unaware of the new technology = Lebih separuh daripada mereka tidak tahu tentang teknologi baru.
Dalam konteks ini, kami tidak boleh menggunakan 'half them'.
'half them'=separuh mereka, adalah tidak bermakna.

The whole family came to the ceremony = Seluruh keluarganya hadir ke majlis itu.
'Whole' menunjukkan seluruh/kesemua. Ia akan digunakan bersama dengan kata nama bentuk 'singular'

Most teenagers love pop music = Kebanyakan remaja suka akan muzik pop.
'Most' bermaksud kebanyakan. 'Most' digunakan sebelum kata nama ataupun kata adjektif.
Most of the students in my class are Spanish = Kebanyakan murid dalam kelas saya adalah orang Sepanyol.
'Most of' hanya digunakan untuk kata nama, jika terdapat 'determiner' (the, those, my, her).
'Kebanyakan orang di situ adalah kenalan saya. ' Pilihkan terjemahan Inggeris yang betul. ;
