'Tons of' என்ற சொல் 'a lot of/lots of' என்ற இடத்தில் கூட உபயோகப்படுத்தப் படுகிறது . ஆனால் இங்கே 'lot/lots' என்பதே இயல்பானது.

'Half' அல்லது 'half of' க்குப்பின் கண்டிப்பாக ஒரு உறுதியான (determiner) எண்ணிக்கை வரவேண்டும் 'Half my friends' (ஏன் பாதி நண்பர்கள் त) / 'Half of my friends' (என்னுடைய நண்பர்களில் பாதி ) இரண்டும் சரி/
Half of them were unaware of the new technology = அவர்களில் பாதிப்பேருக்கு புதிய டெக்னாலஜி பற்றித் தெரியாது.
இங்கு Half them என சொல்ல முடியாது . Half them = பாதி அவர்கள் ; இதற்கு சரியான அர்த்தம் இல்லை.
'அவர்களில் பாதிப்பேர் வரிசையில் அமர்ந்திருந்தார்கள் ' இதன் சரியான ஆங்கில மொழிபெயர்ப்பை தேர்ந்தெடு;

Most teenagers love pop music = இளவயதினரில் பெரும்பாலோர் பாப் மியூசிக் விரும்புகின்றனர்.
'Most' இன் பொருள் 'பெரும்பாலோர்'. இது பெயர்ச்சொல் அல்லது பெயரடை (Adjective) இரடண்டோடும் உபயோகப்படுத்தப்படும்.
Most of the students in my class are Spanish = வகுப்பில் பெரும்பாலான மாணவர்கள் ஸ்பானிஷ்.
'Most of' இன் உபயோகம் பெயர்ச்சொல்லின் பின் 'determiner' (the, those, my, her) இருக்கும் போது மட்டுமே வரும்.
