Reflexive and Reciprocal Pronouns
टिप
=
A reflexive pronoun is a special kind of pronoun that is usually used when the object of a sentence is the same as the subject. Each personal pronoun (such as \'I\', \'you\' and \'she\') has its own reflexive form: I — myself, you — yourself / yourselves etc.

E.g. I accidentally cut myself with a knife.
=
Here the person doing the action (the subject), is the same as the person receiving the action (the object).
Reflexive pronouns point back to the subject of the sentence.
In the given sentence: 'myself' is a reflexive pronoun.

Reflexive Pronouns: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, oneself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves.

1) He cut himself while chopping vegetables.

2) She looked at herself in the mirror.

We use a reflexive pronoun as a direct or indirect object when the (direct or indirect) object is the same as the subject of the verb:
E.g.
1) Be careful with that knife. You might cut yourself. (Here, 'yourself' is the direct object which could 'get cut').

2) Would you like to pour yourself a drink. (Here, the direct object is 'drink', as it is getting 'poured'; and 'yourself' is the indirect object)

3) They had to cook for themselves. (themselves is the object of the preposition 'for').

We also use reflexive pronouns:

1) With the preposition 'by' when we want to show that someone did something alone and/or without any help:
a) She lived by herself in the palace.
b) The kids got dressed by themselves.

2) To emphasize the person or thing we are referring to:
a) Udaipur itself is quite a small town.
b) Amitabh Bacchan himself sang the final song.

3) For emphasis:
a) I baked the cake myself.
b) She mended the washing machine herself.

4) With specific verbs : enjoy, hid, resign, apply, absent and avail:
a) Jane hid herself behind the tree
b) I am enjoying myself now.

When not to use reflexives :

1) We use personal pronouns, not reflexives, after prepositions of place.
E.g. He had a bag beside him.

2) We use personal pronouns, not reflexives, after 'with' when it means \'accompanied by\':
E.g. She had a few relatives with her.

Reciprocal Pronouns

Karen and Amy looked at themselves in the photo
(Karen and Amy are looking at a photo which features them.)
=
Karen and Amy looked at each other.
(Karen looked at Amy and Amy looked at Karen.)
'Each other' is a reciprocal pronoun.
A 'reciprocal pronoun' is a pronoun which is used to indicate that two or more people are carrying out an action of some type, with both receiving the benefits of that action simultaneously.
टिप
=
There are only two reciprocal pronouns: 'One another' and 'Each other'
E.g. Matt and Benny love each other
E.g. The lions started attacking one another

When you want to refer to two people, you will normally use 'each other.'

When referring to more than two people, for E.g. the students in a lecture hall, you will normally use 'one another.'
=

=
The pronouns each other and one another are singular entities (despite replacing a plural phrase).

Therefore, when showing possession, the apostrophe comes before the 's'.

E.g. Do you two admire each other's creativity? (NOT: each others')
