साधारण भूतकाल को नकारात्मक वाक्य मा 'was/were' पछाडि 'not' को प्रयोग हुन्छ

Eg: The weather was not nice yesterday - हिजो मौसम राम्रो थिएन.

म हिजो स्कुल गएको थिए = I went to school yesterday.
म हिजो स्कुल गएको थिए - सामान्य भूतकाल हो

यसमा क्रिया go को past रूप went प्रयोग भएको छ.
म हिजो स्कुल गएको थिइन = I did not go to school yesterday.
सामान्य भूतकाल वाक्य, जसमा क्रिया हुन्छ, त्यस्मा I, we, they, he, she आदि सँगै did not को प्रयोग हुन्छ र क्रिया को वर्तमान रूप मात्रै आउछ.
