‏Superlatives 'سب سے لمبا، سب سے اچھا وغیرہ'

Rajasthan is hot = راجستھان گرم ہے
Rajasthan is the hottest state in India = راجستھان ہندوستان کا سب سے گرم صوبہ ہے
Superlative degree، کسی صفت کا superlative روپ ہوتا ہے۔
یہاں hot کا superlative روپ hottest ہے۔
Superlative degree کا مطلب ہوتا ہے کہ جو صفت ہے وہ سب سے بہتر /سب سے زیادہ ہے۔

She is short = وہ چھوٹی ’پستہ قد‘ ہے
She is the shortest girl in our class = وہ ہماری کلاس میں سب سے پستہ قد لڑکی ہے
Short -> Shortest
یہاں Short کی superlative ڈگری shortest ہے۔

Rule: the + adjective + est

کسی بھی صفتی لفظ کو superlative ڈگری میں تبدیل کرنے کے لیے اس کے آخر میں 'est' لگا دیا جاتا ہے۔

She is pretty = وہ حسینہ ہے
She is the prettiest girl in the world = وہ حسینہء عالم ہے/وہ دنیا کی سب سے خوبصورت لڑکی ہے.
یہاں pretty کی superlative ڈگری prettiest ہے۔

the + adjective'-y+i' + est
یہاں pretty کو superlative بنانے کے لیے pretty میں موجود 'y' کو حذف کر کے 'iest' لگادیا جائے گا۔

He is intelligent = وہ ذہین ہے
He is the most intelligent boy in the class = وہ کلاس میں سب سے زیادہ ذہین لڑکا ہے
کچھ الفاظ کو superlative بنانے کے لیے صرف ان سے پہلے 'most' لکھا جاتا ہے۔

the + most + intelligent

most intelligent ہی intelligent کی superlative ڈگری ہے.

intelligentest غلط ہے۔
'وہ ہمارے دفتر میں سب سے جوان ملازم ہے۔' کا انگریزی میں درست جملہ تجویز کیجیے;
He is the younger employee in our office.
He is the more youngest employee in our office.
He is the youngest employee in our office.
He is the most young employee in our office.
'وہ کلاس میں سب سے حَسِین لڑکی ہے' کا انگریزی میں درست جملہ تجویز کیجیے;
She is the prettier girl in the class.
She is the prettiest girl in the class.
She is the most pretty girl in the class.
She is more pretty girl in the class.
'سب سے جلدی ’دستیاب‘ اپائنمنٹ آٹھ بجے کا ہے' کا انگریزی میں درست جملہ تجویز کیجیے;
The most early appointment is at 8 o'clock.
The more early appointment is at 8 o'clock.
The earliest appointment is at 8 o'clock
The earlier appointment is at 8 o'clock.
'ہم کلاس کے سب سے زیادہ ذہین طلباء ہیں' کا انگریزی میں درست جملہ تجویز کیجیے;
