Superlatives (ಎಲ್ಲಕಿಂತ ಉದ್ದದ, ತುಂಬಾ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ)

ಸೂಚನೆ

Rajasthan is hot = ರಾಜಸ್ಥಾನ ಬಿಸಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

Rajasthan is hottest state in India = ರಾಜಸ್ಥಾನ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಉಷ್ಣದ ರಾಜ್ಯ.

Superlative degree, ಯಾವುದಾದರು ವಿಶೇಷಣದ superlative ರೂಪ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿ hottest, hot ನ superlative ರೂಪ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
Superlative degree ನ ಅರ್ಥ ಯಾವ ವಿಶೇಷವಿದೆಯೋ, ಅದು ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿದೆ(ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕಿಂತ) ಎಂದು.

ಸೂಚನೆ

She is short = ಅವಳು ಕುಳ್ಳಗೆ ಇರುವಳು.

She is the shortest girl in our class = ಅವಳು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಕುಳ್ಳಗಿರುವಳು.

Short -> Shortest
ಅಲ್ಲಿ shortest, short ನ superlative ರೂಪ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

Rule: the + adjective + est

ಯಾವುದಾದರು ವಿಶೇಷಣ ಶಬ್ದ superlative ರೂಪ ಮಾಡಲು ಅದರ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 'est' ಜೋಡಿಸಿರಿ.

ಸೂಚನೆ

She is pretty = ಅವಳು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿರುವಳು.

She is the prettiest girl in the world = ಅವಳು ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿರುವಳು.

ಇಲ್ಲಿ pretty ನ superlative ರೂಪ prettiest ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

The + adjective(-y+i) + est
ಇಲ್ಲಿ pretty ನ superlative ರೂಪ ಮಾಡಲು pretty ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ 'y' ತೆಗೆದು 'iest' ಜೋಡಿಸಿರಿ.

ಸೂಚನೆ

He is intelligent = ಅವನು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ.

He is the most intelligent boy in the class = ಅವನು ಕಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು.

ಕೆಲವು ಶಬ್ಧಗಳ superlative ರೂಪ ಮಾಡಲು ಕೇವಲ ಅದರ ಮುಂಚೆ 'most' ಬರೆಯಲಾಗುವುದು.

The + most + intelligent

Most intelligent , intelligent ನ superlative ರೂಪ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
