Singer Kunal Ganjawala says he has started writing his own music instead of waiting for the phone to ring for new projects. And he is loving it!
"I'm writing a lot of music besides singing, because times have changed and you have to write your music and sing it. I'm doing a lot of live performances also, but I'm most excited about writing my own music and not waiting for the phone to ring, " Ganjawala said at the music launch of the film "Love Shagun".
He feels the music industry in India is currently in a wonderful phase wherein talent is coming from everywhere.
". . . An Ankit (Tiwari) came out of nowhere, an Arijit (Singh) came out of there, Armaan (Malik) came from nowhere. . . So it's fantastic, " he added.
In "Love Shagun", Ganjawala - - known for songs like "Channa vey" and "Bheege honth tere" - - has sung the song "Saathiya".
Considering the fact that his song "O humdum" from the film "Saathiya" was his claim to fame, he said that singing a song with the same word was nostalgic for him.
"Love Shagun" is a film with relatively new actors like Anuj Sachdeva and Nidhi Subbaiah.
Ganjawala said: "When I sang for 'Saathiya', Vivek Oberoi was new, when I did 'Bheege Honth. . . ', Mallika Sherawat and Emraan Hashmi were new. You never know. . . I do every song, whether it is for Sanjay Bhansali, Mukesh Bhatt, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar. We do it with the love that 'this is my song'. "
