The results of Telenor Group's pilot online survey assessing millennials' attitudes about their future career found that all respondents think robots in the workplace will be part of their future.
"This gives us an interesting perspective on how technology is impacting our youth in their careers and jobs, said Sharad Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer, Telenor India Communications, in statement.
The survey was conducted in India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar and Pakistan through the Telenor Group Facebook.
In India, 66 per cent of millennials (those born after 1980 and before 2000) said they were "excited" about future opportunities in the internet and digital sectors, with 34 per cent noted they were "extremely excited".
Also, 57 per cent of Indian youth said that mobile/internet technology will be "important" in their career by 2020.
Thirty six per cent agreed that non technical skills will also be important for jobs of the future and 38 per cent predicted that the manufacturing and engineering industries would see the most machine takeovers.
Interestingly, 22 per cent of Indians said that the proliferation of robots will not affect them much and nine per cent would like to be the ones who design such robots.
