Poll related social media advertisements need pre - certification before they are uploaded online, Chief Electoral Officer Kunal said on Wednesday.
"All such advertisements require pre - certification as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, " said an official statement.
All political parties in Goa were asked to forthwith submit all such advertisements on social media/e - paper to respective media certification and monitoring committee for pre - certification, said Kunal, who goes by only one name.
Nearly all political parties and independent candidates in the poll - bound coastal state have active social media profiles and dedicated pages which are used for electoral campaigning.
