Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that his ministry, due to the maximum budget utilisation during the current financial year, has received higher gross allocation of 10. 38 percent.
"The total allocation for the ministry in the (2016 - 17) budget is Rs. 77, 923. 12 crore against Rs. 68, 924. 10 crore of the current financial year (2015 - 16), " he told reporters here at a press conference.
In the union budget, the ministry has been provided Rs. 1753. 90 crore for modernisation of police force.
"It includes Rs. 250 crore for CCTNS, Rs. 595 crore for modernisation of state police forces, Rs. 840 crore for security - related expenditure (SRE) and Rs. 68. 90 crore for India Reserve Battalions, " he said.
Delhi Police has been allocated Rs. 5657. 84 crore which is 11. 31 percent more as compared to 2015 - 16.
Border Management has been provided Rs. 3, 777. 40 crore which includes Rs. 990 crore for Border Area Development Programme, Rs. 2, 490 crore for Border Infrastructure, and Rs. 88 crore for Land Ports Authority of India.
