National passenger carrier Air India on Monday said it has begun to operate wide body Boeing - 777 aircraft on the Delhi - Chennai - Delhi sector to meet a surge in demand of holiday travellers.
"Effective from today, the flight will fulfil the increasing demand of passengers travelling on this sector, " the airline said in a statement.
The statement added that the 342 - seater wide body aircraft offers a three - class configuration, comprising of four first class, 35 business class and 303 economy class seats, including increased space for cargo and baggage.
