DELHI: Within hours of the winter session of Parliament concluding on Wednesday, BJP chief Amit Shah suspended former cricketer and dissident MP Kirti Azad from the party for repeatedly targeting finance minister Arun Jaitley over alleged irregularities in the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) despite being asked to desist from going public with his charges.
The timing seemed intended to deny Azad and opposition parties such as Congress and AAP which have been backing the Darbhanga MP an opportunity use the floor of Parliament to raise the issue. 'Kirti Azad, Darbhanga MP, is suspended from party with immediate effect for his anti - party activities, ' a BJP statement said.
