After meeting the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, Google's CEO Sundar Pichai said that everyone is excited to invest in India. Sundar Pichai's comments came after PM Modi met top 21 business leaders and suggested them to invest in India as the country's growth is a win - win for both the countries. Speaking to the media, Sundar Pichai said that the meeting went well and tangible results are expected to follow.
"It was very good. It was a discussion across many industries, " said Sundar Pichai. "I think the Prime Minister was looking for insights into how India can attract more foreign investment, " Pichai told ANI. Sundar Pichai also said that ideas were discussed regarding more foreign investments. "Everyone was looking forward to invest more in India, " he said.
The other CEOs present at the meeting include Adobe's Shantanu Narayen, Amazon's CEO Jeff Bezos, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Caterpillar's Jim Umpleby and many others.
After the meeting with PM Narendra Modi, CEO Walmart India Krish Iyer said, "It was a very good discussion, we reiterated our commitment to India, " adding, "I believe GST is a game - changing reform, its not just a tax reform its a new way of doing business. " Iyer said, "GST will remove barriers & will eventually help in bringing down prices of essential commodities. "
