The 10th edition of FDCI's India Couture Week is showcasing India's best couturiers. From Rohit Bal to Tarun Tahiliani the 7 - day fashion extravaganza is a delight for all fashionistas. The 5th - day of ICW 2017 witnessed Shilpa Shetty on the ramp and the feminine collection from Varun Bahl. In case you missed it, here are the highlights:
Opera by Monisha Jaising
Unlike the regular lehengas at ICW, designer Monisha showcased something different and theatrical on the ramp. Her 'Opera' collection was a mix of evening dresses, cocktail saris, evening gowns, crop tops and ball skirts. The dramatic collection was inspired by the Opera House. Stealing the show, Shilpa Shetty was the perfect showstopper for designer's brocade silk ball gown. The golden weaved fabric gave an ethnic touch while the draping is said to be inspired by the 18th century.
Art Nouveau by Varun Bahl
A story of vintage floral, Varun's collection was a visual treat. Showcasing the feminine beauty, the designer took inspiration by painter Chezh Art Nouveau and artist Alphonse Mucha's masterpieces. The colours were a mix of ivory, pale pink, peach, burnt orange, pistachio, red, and old rose. The collection was a mix of lehengas, jacket Anarkali and saris.
