The Odisha government on Friday announced that it will implement the 7th central pay commission recommendations in the state.
The state government would set up a fitment committee, which would work out the modalities for implementation of the recommendations.
"I am happy to announce that the state government will implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
A fitment committee is formed for working out the modalities.
This will benefit the state government employees and pensioners, " Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik told media persons here.
It will benefit around four lakh government employees and three lakh pensioners.
The 7th Pay Commission has recommended a 23. 55 per cent overall hike in pay, allowances and pensions for the central government employees with effect from January 1 this year.
