Veteran Lebanese soprano Majida El - Roumy will perform in a ladies - only concert in Riyadh on Dec. 28, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has announced.
The event will be held at the Conference and Convention Center of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
The announcement by the GEA and El - Roumy herself sent fans into a frenzy. Those in the Saudi capital were excited, while those in Jeddah and other cities were disappointed.
"See you in Riyadh. Dear fans in Jeddah, it is really hard to make it this year. Next year Insha'Allah we will meet, " the veteran singer tweeted.
Men who wanted to attend El - Roumy's concert also had a word of assurance from the official Twitter account of Roznamah, the GEA's entertainment calendar.
The legendary singer, 61, was born in Kfarshima, Lebanon. She is the daughter of music icon Halim El - Roumi. She made her first steps in the artistic world at the beginning of the 1970s when she took part in the TV show "Studio Al - Fan" (Art Studio). She won the gold medal for the best female singer of the year.
