Automobile manufacturer Datsun on Thursday unveiled its third model - - Datsun redi - GO urban - cross.
"Datsun's growth strategy in India will continue to reflect our commitment to local engineering, development and manufacturing, " said Guillaume Sicard, president, Nissan India Operations, in a statement.
"It (Datsun redi - GO) is created to bring fun, free and confident thinking to the otherwise traditional compact hatchback segment. "
This is the company's third offering in the country. The automobile company entered the Indian automobile market two years ago.
According to the company, Datsun redi - GO, the first urban - cross in the Indian market, provides the best features of a crossover and the major attributes of an urban hatchback.
The company added that Datsun redi - GO is based on a common module family (CMF - A) platform from the Renault - Nissan Alliance.
The urban - cross is powered by an all - new 0. 8 litre three - cylinder engine in - sync with a five - speed manual transmission.
