The cabinet gave its approval at meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.
The MoU will provide an umbrella for educational, scientific and technical research and environment protection, which are also stated in the aim of the India Bhutan Foundation established in August 2003.
Through the MoU, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) will stand to gain in terms of experience in hill road construction, which is of paramount importance in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and various States of the northeast region.

Modi visited Bhutan in June 2014. During his visit, the two sides agreed to continue close coordination and cooperation in areas related to their national interests.
