The fee for the transfer of ownership of motorcycles will be standardised at RM3 nationwide beginning April 1, the Transport Ministry announced.
Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said this is to ease the burden of Malaysian citizens, especially those in the B40 group.
At present, the fee is RM3 for the peninsula, RM5 in Sarawak and RM40 in Sabah.
"The standardisation of the fees shows that the Government is always aware of the rakyat's needs in reducing their expenses, " he told a press conference after his post - cabinet meeting here Wednesday afternoon.
