Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for recruiting labour from Bangladesh in 19 categories.
The MoU was signed in Dubai by the secretary of the Bangladesh Ministry of Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment, Dr Namita Halder, and the under - secretary of the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi.
The MoU was signed on the basis of the interests and compliance of both countries and considering the objectives of “safe, well - disciplined and responsible labour migration”.
Witnesses to the signing ceremony included Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation of UAE, Nasser bin Thani Juma Al Hamli.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Mohammad Imran and Additional Secretary of Home Ministry Mohammad Azharul Haque were also present.
