Thousands gathered at an open field beside the Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin in Presint 3 here, eager to watch Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad stump for Pakatan Harapan (PH) despite the rain.
The ceramah will be the Opposition’s biggest one in the federal administrative capital built by Dr Mahathir in his final years as prime minister.
His return is historic in many ways. Now, he is leading the charge for the PH pact, standing together with some of the men and women who had gone head - to - head with him for decades in Parliament prior.
Besides the PH chairman and Putrajaya candidate Samsu Adabi Mamat, others slated to speak tonight are DAP’s Hannah Yeoh and Anthony Loke, and surprise crowd - puller, Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz — the eldest son of the late PAS’ Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
