 An education agency of the New Zealand government on Wednesday announced an opportunity for 35 Indian scholars to study at graduate and post graduate levels in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, fashion and business at eight of New Zealand's top universities. 
Education New Zealand (ENZ) announced their upcoming strategic initiatives for the Indian market for the next quarter. 
They are hoping to continue to strengthen the education ties between the two countries, with focus on the southern regions of India. 
Earlier this week, President Pranab Mukherjee made historic visit to New Zealand as he became the first Indian president to visit the country. 
Mukherjee and Steven Joyce, the Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment Minister of New Zealand, announced new university scholarship initiative for the Indian students in the country. 
ENZ brand ambassador Stephen Fleming said: "I have been working with Education New Zealand for over two years now. 
It is encouraging to see the growth that New Zealand institutions have witnessed from India overtime. 
India is the second largest source of international students to New Zealand. 
For the year ending December 2015, total of 21, 093 student visas were issued to Indian students for studying in New Zealand, an increase of 20 percent from 2014.
