Aaghaz - e - Dosti, an India - Pakistan friendship initiative has welcomed the decision of the Director General of Military Operations(DGMO)of both the countries talking on hotline and reiterating their commitment towards 2003 ceasefire agreement.
The Aaghaz - e - Dosti has asserted that this progress must be seen as a positive step which would help a lot to people on both sides particularly the border population where civilian deaths increased in recent times with the increased incidents of ceasefire violations. It has been reported that many houses, schools, agricultural fields were damaged and many civilians lost their lives in cross border firing.
Aaghaz - e - Dosti, in a release on Saturday, extended gratitude to both the governments for engaging with each other in bringing commitment on ground once again with which it can be expected that the number of incidents would reduce. The friendship initiative has asked the civil society and peace groups on both sides to register their appeals with their governments in this regard.
