AT least nine tourists were injured after part of a ceiling collapsed at a popular tourist spot in Huayin City, northwest of China’s Shaanxi Province.
The incident occurred at around 5. 30pm (7. 30pm AEST) inside the Huashan Mountain tourist centre as people travelled down an escalator.
Emergency workers attended the scene to recover those buried under the debris.
While it was reported that no one was seriously injured, people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The tourist centre is working with authorities to establish the cause of the incident.
