The Secretary for the Economy and Finance of Macau invited the Brazilian State of Rio de Janeiro to organise a visit and/or take part in the three most important exhibitions and conventions held in Macau – The International Forum on Investment and Infrastructure Construction, the International Environmental Forum and Exhibition and the Macau International Fair.
Leong Vai Tac said that the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) government actively encourages economic diversification and the promotion of new industries, including financial development with its own characteristics, as well as the exhibition and convention sector, focusing its attention on conventions.
During a meeting with the deputy governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Francisco Dornelles and with the Secretary of the Civil House and for Economic Development, Sérgio Pimentel, the Macau Secretary for the Economy and Finance said that the formal establishment of the headquarters of the Fund for Development Cooperation between China and Portuguese - speaking countries will in the future foster investment between China, Brazil and Macau.
