J&K SAC approves formation of 2 women police battalions. 
 
The Jammu and Kashmir State Administrative Council (SAC) under the chairmanship of Governor Satya Pal Malik on Monday approved the formation of two women police battalions.  
 
Over 2, 000 posts of various ranks will be created for these battalions.  
 
The move is aimed at increasing female representation in the force and help tackle gender - based violence, an official said.
