what's the difference between did and had

Did is used in the past simple. Had is used in the past perfect. Both express past actions but in a different way. Ex :he did complete his work this morning. (past simple) He had completed his work before I asked him. (past perfect)

did is used in past indefinite and it means kiya tha whereas had is used in past perfect it means hua tha kiya gaya tha.
