I am from peshawar.. Is the right expression here. Because no article is used before a proper Noun (name of a person, place or thing) Ex :A Pakistan (wrong) A peshawar (wrong) But there is an exemption for the above rule. If a name of a place has plural meaning.. Like group, kingdom or union, those names take "the" Ex :The USA (right) The UK(right) The Netherlands (right)
