difference between "were taken" and " had been taken" . Plz suggest e.g which one is best a- Photographs had been taken by me b- Photographs were taken by me both can be use in written English?

Yes, both can be used in written English. "a" is past perfect _ passive . That needs another supportive past action. Ex : Photographs had been taken before Radha came to the party. "b" is past simple_ passive. That needs time of the completed action. Ex : I were taken photographs at this time yesterday.
