A simile is a figurative comparison between two things using "like" or "as". ... A metaphor is also a figurative comparison between two things, but does not use "like" or "as"; the comparison is implied.

Both metaphor and simile are figure of speeches. Metaphor is an implied simile whereas simile means open comparison comes with as or like.
