If not good at grammar subject and object how to decide uses of 'I' & 'me'

In sentence "I" is used as subject and "me" is used as object. Subject:- Ex :- I am very happy. Here "I" is a subject. Object:- Ex :- My brother gave me a chocolate yesterday. Here "me" is a object.
