The players, as well as captain...............to win. In this question sometimes the answer shows *want* and sometimes shows *wants* .Which is correct please explain.

Here answer is want because the subject is "the players" so it's plural. So want is right answer for it. But if here the subject is "the player" then the right answer is wants because "the player" is singular.
