The singular word 'guy' is only used for males. 'Guys', however, is an informal term, used while one is addressing a team, a group of people, or someone's friends. "You guys" is a familiar, all-inclusive way of addressing a group of men or women directly. It is usually not gender specific. That said, there are some important distinctions you must understand. "You guys" is more likely to be said in mixed-group contexts. If you want to use something for a female group, you can say: ladies, girls, etc.
