when we use were or was..???

"Was" and "Were" both are used in Past Continuous Tense. But there is a great difference between them. Was :- It is used when the subject is 3rd person singular number. Ex :- She was reading a book. Were :- It is used when the subject is plural number. Ex :- They were playing football.
