“Pleased to meet you.” “Thanks. I’ve always wanted to come here.” “Truly it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance”. “Oh wow. What a delightful place you have.” “Thank you for welcoming me here.” and you are entering their home or party, it is a courtesy for the host to welcome the guest. In that case, you smilingly say “ Thank you very much”. If you had already said a thank you and the opposite person says, “ You are welcome”, just accept it politely with a smile and/ or say “See you again” or “ We will catch up again” or “ We will meet again” etc.. If the other person is a staff of service industry say airlines or hotel etc, typically they always Welcome you. Be courteous and smile while entering the plane or hotel. You can as well add if you like, Thank You based on the quality of Welcome. If it was just a matter of words, you can ignore it. If there is a politeness and respect expressed, you must say “Thank You” and end it. In summary, where is a respect given, you should express it. Where there is a casual words, ignore it
