Had had is used in past perfect tense where the 1st had is used as an auxiliary verb and the 2nd had is used as a main verb. For ex:- I had had this book. Had we had dinner?

Look at this example sir..... I had had my dinner. First ''had'' is auxiliary verb and second ''had''is main verb.
